New Addition to Hanover Days aka Carnival

This year, the Hanover Days Carnival is happy to announce the addition of the “MayFest Volleyball Tourney” hosted by ECV. This exciting new event will feature competitive men’s and women’s doubles volleyball on Saturday, May 19th. In addition, there will be a free novice 6′s division on Saturday for all friends, family and community members that wish to hit the volleyball around in a stress-free “tournament” environment. There will be a junior girls quads division as well, and tons of fun for the whole family.

Hanover Preschool accepting applications for Preschool programs for young 3′s, 3′s, 4′s and PreK starting this fall.

Extended care is part of the extensive enrichment program for all ages at Hanover Township Community Center.

Part Time Days Position at HTCC

Front Desk/Custodial position opening late summer for year round position. Application online – go to contact us and you will find the link for the application. 10-15 hours a week with a chance to work more hours depending on availability. Must be customer driven, computer literate, and enjoy working with people of all ages. Position will include but not limited to customer service, computer entry and cleaning duties.

Bingo Thursday- this monthly program is the first Thursday of every month. HTCC partners each month with a non-profit. May Bingo benefactor: YWCA Adult Day Center

Join us for the month of May as we celebrate the contributions of our older residents. All “young @ heart” classes during the week are free – stop at the front desk and sign a waiver.

Monday, Wednesday, & Friday- low impact aerobics from 8:30 to 9:15 am

Tuesday & Thursday- Stretch/yoga from 8:30 to 9:30 am

Wednesdays at 9:00 am during the month of May join us for Walk & Talk for health….schedule to follow: 5/4 St. Lukes VNA Blood Pressure Health, 5/11 Manor Care Nutrition, 5/18 HTCC Stress Management, and 5/25 Manor Care w/ Medicare Bingo. AARP Safe Driver program – register at HTCC or with AARP Tuesday 5/24 & 5/26 from 1 to 4 pm – save money on your insurance by taking this program. Must be over 50 years old- AARP members $12.00/ Non-members $17.00

American Red Cross Fall Prevention program- May 16th at 9 am – free to the public

May 10th- Game day and May 12th- Pickle ball: both fun days to come out and meet your neighbors, learn something new and enjoy your community center- free!

National Visit A Park Day- April 8, 2011

April 8, 2011 is a day to set aside unnecessary obligations to visit your local, state, regional, or national park. The goal: to engage people to learn more about their local, state, and national parks as well as provide for education and recreation opportunities within the parks to foster future enjoyment and visitation to these parks!

Armed Services Park- Dedication June 14, 2001

In Hanover Township, Northampton County we have a new Armed Services Park at the corner of 512 and Hanoverville Road. The park honoring deceased, retired and active memebers of the United States Armed Services will be officially dedicated on June 14, 2011 @ 3:00 pm. Please join us.

The park was funded through a gaming grant from Monroe County and matching funds from Hanover Township.

Armed Services Park

Dedication – June 14, 2011 at 3 pm; The flags were raised for the first time November 11, 2010 (Veteran’s Day) and the sign installed on January 10, 2011. The park honoring deceased, retired and active members of the United States Armed Services will be officially dedicated on the above date. Located at the southwest corner of S.R. 0512 and Hanoverville Road on lands dedicated & donated to the Township by the Jaindl Land Campany. The park was funded through a gaming grant from Monroe County and matching funds from Hanover Township.
